Sidney Turns One!

March 7, 2011 Sidney turned one year! We had a celebration brunch the day before complete with her first taste of cake:

She thought the singing and the candle were pretty great

...a bit disappointed that we blew the candle out

like father like daughter

True to form... Sidney loves her vegetables even in the face of chocolate cake!

chocolate and cucumbers?

The cake was pretty good, but most captivating were the BALLOONS!!! The balloons were a big hit with all the kids, but once everyone left and Sidney had the balloons all to herself, she held on tight. In fact, she walked around with that bundle of balloons for two days straight until they lost their helium. She kept them in her hand at all waking hours. It was tricky to capture on camera since they were so much bigger than her, but here are a few shots:

come on mama, let's walk

It's still hard to believe that it's been one year! We're so excited to set forth into the second year of sweet Sidney's life. Stay tuned!

Sidney since the New Year

Jenny & David came to visit us in January. The last time they had seen Sidney was when we went to visit them in Boulder when she was 3 months old. Amazing how much she's changed since then!

All ready to go out with her new hat from Grandma

On a walk with mama and Auntie Jenny

Thanks for visiting Jenny and David. It was so sweet to have you here. We can't wait to meet your baby due to arrive in June!!!

Sidney helps unload the dishwasher

She is very proud of her work
Loving bath time. Sidney is a big fan of the bath. She's a champion splasher.

Just being cute 'cause she can't help it

Food: Sidney has become quite the eater. She will eat just about anything we put in front of her, especially if she can feed it to herself. Her absolute favorite foods are peas and blueberries. Here she is enjoying them fully. These blueberries were frozen from last year's crop that I defrosted. I have since learned that it works better to just give them to her frozen. I love the bed head that goes with these pics.
